• Enter and exit the pool safely
• Blow bubbles and become comfortable putting the face in and submerging
• Front and back float with support, progressing towards independence
• Kick on the front and back with support
• Travel short distances with decreasing support
• Jump into the pool with support where needed

View TimesThis course is suitable for children who are confident in the water and comfortable putting their face in/under the water. They may have progressed from our Level 1 classes, attended Baby and Toddler classes with us or elsewhere, or have previous swimming experience.
Children should be beginning to move through the water with increasing independence and less reliance on flotation aids. This is a ‘child only’ session with only the children and the teacher in the water.
There is a maximum of 4 children per class.
Examples of course steps:
• Front and back float independently
• Push and glide on the front and back
• Kick independently on the front and back
• Swim short distances independently without flotation aids
• Roll/rotate and recover to a standing position
• Introduce simple front and back arm actions
• Jump into the pool safely and return to the side -
View TimesThis course is suitable for children who are swimming independently and are ready to develop their strokes, coordination and swimming technique.
Children should be confident moving through the water without flotation aids and comfortable putting their face in/under the water.
This is a ‘child only’ session with only the children and the teacher in the water.
There is a maximum of 4 children per class.
Examples of course steps:
• Swim approximately 5–10m independently with control
• Develop front crawl and backstroke arm and leg actions
• Introduce side breathing for front crawl
• Introduce breaststroke leg action
• Improve body position, coordination and propulsion
• Develop basic sculling and treading water skills
• Jump in, turn and return independently to the side
• Retrieve objects from the pool floor where appropriate -
View TimesThis course is suitable for confident, independent swimmers who are ready to further develop their strokes, technique and stamina.
Children should be able to swim independently without flotation aids and be comfortable and confident in the water.
This is a ‘child only’ session with only the children and the teacher in the water.
There is a maximum of 4 children per class.
Examples of course steps:
• Swim 10m+ confidently while maintaining control and body position
• Develop coordinated front crawl with breathing
• Develop coordinated backstroke
• Develop breaststroke arms, legs and timing
• Introduce dolphin kick where appropriate
• Build stamina while maintaining swimming technique
• Tread water and perform basic sculling with increasing control
• Jump in, turn and return independently to the side
• Develop the independence and swimming skills needed to progress into mainstream swimming lessons -

View TimesThis course is suitable for aged 4+ who have attended Baby and Toddler classes either with us or elsewhere. They should be confident in the water, can get in the pool independently and are happy to put their face in/under the water. This is a ‘child only’ session with only the children and the teacher in the water.
Please note our pool is 6m in length so if your child can already swim 5m, we may not be the right choice!
There is a maximum of 4 children per class.
Example of course steps:
Front and back paddle using a woggle for 5 metres
Push and glide on front with face in
Push and glide on back using a woggle
Blow bubbles with face in the water
Perform a star float and roll over (with support)
Show treading water action using a woggle
Attempt circle action with arms

View TimesThis course is suitable for aged 5+ who have experience of attending lessons independently without parents in the water before and are attempting to swim short distances without buoyancy aids. This is a ‘child only’ session with only the children and the teacher in the water.
Please note our pool is 6m in length so if your child can already swim 5m, we may not be the right choice!
There is a maximum of 4 children in the class.
Example of course steps:
Enter pool safely – Jump or step and return to poolside
Swim 2m unaided front and roll over to swim 2m back paddle
Perform a star float unaided on back and front
Attempt breaststroke using a woggle
Push and glide on front – face in the water
Push and glide on back
Retrieve object from bottom of pool
Demonstrate front crawl arms and back crawl
Scull head first using a woggle for 5m
Tread water for 10 seconds -
